HSP III Visiting Artist : Joiri Minaya

The Harry S. Parker III Visiting Artist Program connects distinguished artists to the island. Joiri Minaya is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores identity, colonialism, and cultural representation through installation, photography, sculpture, performance, textiles, and painting. Drawing on Caribbean and diasporic imagery, Minaya uses vibrant patterns and tropical motifs to examine the ways histories of colonialism shape perceptions of place, culture, and the body. Her work reclaims and reimagines these visual languages, creating layered spaces that invite us to consider identity, power, and belonging.
